Leake Academy

The Leake Academy varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders had an amazing time at summer camp, which was held at the University of Southern Mississippi.  Both squads received blue and gold superior ribbons, spirit sticks; and JV won the bandana on the first day.  Our girls dominated in the "Jump Off" contest in which Taylor Dearman took the varsity crown and Mackenzie Johnson won the JV division. All twelve of the girls that tried out from Varsity and Junior Varsity were name as "All-American."  Kaitlan Sudduth, Shelby Hemphill, Laryssa McBeath and Hanna Kemp were "Pinned Forward."  On the last day, both squads won superior trophies and later went on to take the title of "Camp Champ" in their divisions.  Taylor Dearman and Hannah Smith both were chosen by the UCA staff to tryout for next year's UCA staff and were given a application to fill out in the fall. The varsity squad was also interviewed for the campus newspaper and had their picture taken for a feature article that appeared in the paper.  Thank you girls for doing such an outstanding job.  We are so proud of you.
